Lowest snap retailer access by state

Residents far from SNAP retailers (2025).

Residents more than a mile by road from a SNAP-authorized food store in an urban area, or more than ten miles in a rural one. Driving distance along the road network rather than straight-line, because how far a shop is as the crow flies is not the question anyone has. Different from the store count beside it: a county can have several supermarkets clustered in one town and still leave most of its residents far from one. The thresholds are USDA’s own and are blunt by design — a mile is nothing with a car and a great deal without one, which is why vehicle access is measured separately in the source. The 2025 SRAM release is explicitly dated here rather than presented as current store inventory.
