This is CDC PLACES’ modeled county estimate, built from BRFSS, Census population estimates, and ACS data—not a count of local diagnoses, an air-quality measurement, a measure of asthma severity, or a prediction of an individual’s risk. It describes the current adult population and can reflect care access, smoking, housing, work, age, and many other factors besides local conditions.
